Every Poppy Tells a Story
Honour their sevice. Remember their sacrifice.
Earlville Shopping Town, in partnership with Cairns RSL Sub Branch, invites the Cairns community to come together for our Field of Remembrance.
A moving tribute to the courage, service and sacrifice of Australia’s servicemen and women, the Field of Remembrance offers a place to pause, reflect and pay tribute to those who have served our country.
Plant a poppy. Share a moment. Remember together.
Join us in creating a poppy to plant in our interactive Field of Remembrance, growing a community tribute, one poppy at a time. Each poppy represents a personal tribute and a collective promise that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Explore historical military displays and wartime memorabilia, and discover stories of courage, resilience and sacrifice that helped shape our nation.
Together, we honour those who served and ensure their legacy lives on.

Proudly Supported by Our Community Partners
Our Field of Remembrance is brought to life with the generous support of our local community partners.
Kokoda Hall – Memorial Museum will share a collection of wartime memorabilia, offering a glimpse into Australia’s military history, while Tank Side Assist will showcase two historic military vehicles — a 1944 GPW Jeep and a 1941 Bren Gun Carrier.
A special thank you to Cairns Hardware for generously providing the tools and equipment to help our community bring the Field of Remembrance to life.
We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Iulia, who in 2015 connected with Lynn Berry and Margaret Knight through the Global Poppies Project, an art initiative honouring Australian service personnel. Bringing the movement to Cairns, Iulia has continued to ‘Paint the Town Red‘ helping to establish a local crochet poppy project in support of Remembrance Day. For the past 11 years, she has proudly kept the spirit of remembrance alive through her annual tribute at Tobruk Pool and is now bringing her handcrafted poppies to Earlville Shopping Town’s Field of Remembrance.
Together, these incredible community contributions help us honour the past, preserve its stories and carry the spirit of Remembrance into the present.
Lest We Forget.
